Privacy Policy
Last Updated: January 2026
1. Local-First Data Sovereignty
Chronix is designed as a self-contained application. All task data, connection credentials, and execution histories are stored in a localized SQLite database within your defined data directory. We do not have access to your automation logic, credentials, or execution logs.
2. Data Collection and Usage
The Software: The Chronix binary does not "phone home" or transmit your data to our servers. Any data collected by the software remains on your infrastructure.
Website Analytics: Our marketing website (chronixhq.com) may collect basic, anonymous traffic data (such as browser type, referring page, and time spent on site) to help us improve our documentation and user experience. We do not collect personally identifiable information (PII) unless you voluntarily provide it through our "Notify Me" or "Join Beta" forms.
3. Security & Encryption
Your credentials and SSH keys are encrypted at rest using a master key unique to your installation. Communication between the Chronix Server and Agents is secured via TLS-encrypted WebSockets and Ed25519-signed identities. We recommend following our security guidelines for managing your master key.
4. Third-Party Services
If you configure Chronix to use third-party notification services (such as Twilio, Plivo, or Telnyx for SMS, or an external SMTP server for email), your data will be subject to the privacy policies of those respective providers.
5. Your Rights
Since your data is stored locally, you have full control over it. You can view, export, or delete your data at any time by managing your local data directory.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
